Nurturing God's Way™ Program Validation
HEARTS for Families utilizes the Nurturing God’s Way curriculum to partner with the faith based community to prevent substance abuse and child maltreatment. The Nurturing God’s Way curriculum is a research-based cultural adaptation of the proven effective Nurturing Parenting Program. Nurturing God’s Way programs utilize the Adult Adolescent Parenting Inventory to measure the changes in attitudes and beliefs before and after program implementation as well as changes in knowledge and participant satisfaction. HEARTS is currently evaluating 11 Nurturing God’s Way community-based programs which have demonstrated program fidelity. All of the 11 programs are provided by facilitators that have completed the new HEARTS competency-based training format.
HEARTS' goal is to conduct a formal, third party program evaluation on the Nurturing God’s Way program. We look to partner with a sampling statistician to determine the effect size needed to show significant results. We then plan to finalize the format and goals for program evaluation design and begin searching for funding and evaluators.
