National Ice Cream Month: How to create a family ice cream bar

It is hot and it is National Ice Cream Month so there is only one thing to do – create an ice cream sundae bar for the whole family!

The essentials

No ice cream sundae bar will be complete without the following:

  • Vanilla and chocolate ice cream
  • Dairy-free ice cream (if you have people with sensitive stomachs)
  • Chocolate (chocolate chips or M&Ms)
  • Crushed cookies (leftover Girl Scout cookies would be yummy!)
  • Strawberry/raspberry sauce
  • Caramel sauce
  • Whipped cream

The extra mile

If you take peek on Pinterest you will find an overwhelming amount of ideas to make your ice cream bar special and unique. Here are a few of our favorites:

Turn this into a social event by inviting friends and neighbors over. Everyone loves ice cream and you are helping foster a safe community by helping your neighbors get to know each other.
