Program Facilitator Training
HEARTS for Families™ offers training opportunities for individuals, facilitators, government agencies and other professionals in communities nationwide and internationally.
Our training provides individuals and organizations with the tools to successfully implement one of the many HEARTS for Families’ programs in your community.
Underage Alcohol Consumption
The Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention Project (ASAPP) is a substance abuse prevention initiative of the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities’ (DBHDD) Office of Behavioral Health Prevention and Federal Grants. This project is implemented using the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF).
The objective of GEN Rx in Bacon County is to implement evidence-based strategies to reduce prescription drug misuse or abuse among 12 – 25 year old youth and young adults. GEN Rx is a three year project funded through a federal grant from the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The grant was awarded to the GA Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), which awarded a subcontract to HEARTS for Families, Inc. to increase the capacity of Bacon County communities to implement the prevention program.
Georgia Suicide Prevention Coalitions
As a Strategic Prevention Framework-Suicide Prevention Provider, HEARTS for Families is now implementing targeted evidence-based strategies based on the needs and capacity of Grady County communities. HEARTS for Families supports the capacity of STEP Up Grady County (a community prevention alliance workgroup) to increase the availability of suicide prevention gatekeeper trainings, decrease the stigma surrounding the topic of suicide, and increase awareness of suicide prevention resources available in the region.
The goal of our community workshops is to educate communities on protective prevention practices that can lead to strong, nurturing relationships that help prevent substance abuse, suicide and violence.
HEARTS for Families currently offers multiple options for parenting program curricula, including: Nurturing Parenting, Nurturing God’s Way, Guiding Good Choices, Botvin Life Skills Training, SMART Moves, and the All Stars Program, each of which has its own parent component.
