Let’s Forgive like an 80-Year-Old-Couple

As I was scrolling through Facebook the other day and I came across a short video of an older married couple, most likely in their 80’s, dancing in the street together. By watching this video, you could tell that it was a cold day as the couple was dressed in heavy coats. There wasn’t anyone around them watching that they were aware of, but clearly, someone was watching in order to capture this beautiful moment. They were in no hurry, not concerned by the elements of nature, just enjoying the time together and taking in each other’s presence and love, capturing the moment the best way they knew how. The caption under the video read, ‘Imagine how many times they have had to forgive each other over the years to get to this point.’

No family is perfect, and no couple is perfect. Every relationship that we have, whether it’s with our friends, our family members, our co-workers, our spouses, our kids, or our in-laws; they all take time, effort, adjustments, and sincerity along the way. Each of these categories of people in your life are bound to mess up and make a mistake here or there. YOU are bound to mess up and make a mistake as well. No one is perfect, as hard as we might try to be, we will never hit the mark of being perfect. We all have our flaws and have fallen short a time or two… or three, or four.
